Marcel van Leeuwen

Born in 1966 in The Netherlands, picked up my first camera when I was 12 years old. An old ‘Afga Clack’ of my dad, using 6x6 cm negatives! (max. 8 in 1 film).

After joining a photo-club in 1983 I bought my first SLR camera and learned to develop and print my own photographs (Black and White) after a while I switched to color slides.

In 1983 I visited my first Airshow and emidiately loved aircraft as a subject for my camera, I’m autodidact and found my own ways to shoot and process my photos. After I started using Digital cameras and Photoshop in a delicate balance more and more time is spent, and things ‘got a bit out of hand’

In 1996 Rob Vogelaar and I started up some websites, and we are able to work semi-professional. Visiting shows and events mostly as members of the press.

For me there is still a lot to do and achieve I’m still as young in heart as when I first picked up a camera, I really hope I can keep that in me as long as possible!
