I
was born in Brooklyn, New York, and have always been fascinated by the
period of history covering the Civil War thru the Korean War. My
interest in aviation probably resulted from the location of our house
which was under one of the approaches to Floyd Bennett Naval Air
Station. We had navy patrol planes and New York Air National Guard
KC-97’s flying over the house at all hours of the day and night.
My
original vocation covered 31 years doing product development, technical
service and sales in the Plastics Industry. My first 35 mm camera was
bought in 1980 for photographing my children, and I have been
photographing air shows for about 5 years. Being a very low tech
person, my latest camera is a Canon F-1n and I go back as far as a
Canon Ftb-n. As long as I can keep getting transparency film, black
& white film, and darkroom supplies, analog photography will rule.
I
have been posting my photographs on flickr and Air Show Buzz. Recently,
some of my photos appeared in two issues of an on line magazine titled
“le cirque volant”. So I am hoping that this will be the first step in
the development of a second career.
