I'm
up to my butt in alligators with ISAP-VII, but everything so far is
looking good. We now have confirmation on the hotel, though no special
code yet for registration and rooms.
We'll be staying at the
Hilton Garden Inn on Pensacola Beach. The phone number is 1 866
916-2999, if you want to call in advance and get things rolling.
If
there's any question, ask for Susan Jones-Curry. Just remember that
only seventy-five rooms have been allocated, and as always it will be
first-come, first-served. Take a look at the Hilton Garden Inn's web
site if you have a minute. With beaches on both the front and back of
the building, it should make for some nice views from the rooms.
Our
room rate, incidentally, is $129 excluding tax, title, and license.
Believe me when I tell you they gave us a serious discount in order to
steal us away from the competition.
The speaker list is almost
completed. Andy Wolfe and I will have that information for you by next
month, if all goes well. We've got some top notch talent lined up, once
again - and one or two presentations that you will not be expecting!
Astronaut "Hoot" Gibson, incidentally, has agreed to speak during the
banquet. "Hoot", for those not familiar with his accomplishments, has
five Shuttle missions to his credit, and was command pilot on four.
Additionally, he was chief of the NASA astronaut corps until his
retirement in 1995, and was commander of the first Shuttle mission to
the Russian Mir space station. He is usually seen every year flying a
Hawker Sea Fury during the Reno Air Races.
Still working on
the tour of Eglin AFB, the USAF Armament Museum, and the National
Museum of Naval Aviation. We should have confirmation on these shortly.
Already looking forward to seeing "y'all" in March!
