Comments from the Chair

July '08

All Ya'll,

Too much water under the bridge since ISAP-VIII and for that I apologize to all of you. Been a busy couple of months, and a little health scare (blood pressure) and the marriage of a daughter didn't help things any. No, the blood pressure problem and the marriage had nothing to do with each other!

Anyway, I hope this note finds all of you well and busy taking lots of aviation photos. Just back from a session myself in Lake Havasu City, AZ for Bell helicopter. Man-oh-man was it hot. 115 ambient and over 140 on the ramp. My crepe sole shoes will never be the same.

Chad and I are starting to get things moving on ISAP-IX. Believe it or not, it's now only nine months away! Ok, ok, I know that sounds like a long time - but when you're working on the putting-it-together side, believe me when I say it's just a few ticks of the clock. Anyway, we're hoping to have hotel information and other odds and ends together for you shortly. Big item to mention, however, is the dates have been chosen. We're planning on March 19, 20, and 21 - probably at a hotel located on or near Paine Field. The latter will be the main area of concentration during our field trip day, so the closer we can stay to it, the better.

Other big news to report is a decision by the board and me to start a new ISAP e-newsletter. This will be going out electronically to the entire membership starting at the end of July. We're hoping it will provide us a more pro-active platform and allow ISAP members to participate a little more effectively than through the more passive web site format. Let me say right up front that we need to hear from you (ALL OF YOU) in order to keep this communication tool viable and timely. Please send me (aerofax@sbcglobal.net) or editor Frank Landrus (viggenja37@sbcglobal.net) an e-mail any time about any thing; we're particularly interested in pieces about recent photo assignments, important events in your life, upcoming items of interest to ISAP members (airshow, photo ops, etc.), possible photo assignments, new equipment, etc., etc. We can use this type of material at any time - INCLUDING RIGHT NOW!

About it for the day. Let me hear from you!

Jay
