Comments from the Chair

Well,
we had an outstanding ISAP-VII in Pensacola. If you weren't there, you
should have been. The speakers were simply outstanding, the field trip
- with one exception - was a superb albeit hurried experience, and the
camaraderie was without peer on the planet. Over- all, unforgettable
and one hell of a lot of fun.
We're already making plans for
2008. Looks like February in Ft. Worth, Texas. Just so
happens that ISAP-I took place there in 2001 and served as the catalyst
for the organization we have today. Denny Lombard, your
secretary, reports that we now have well over 500 names on our ISAP
mailing list - and it's growing rapidly.
Such stats
encourage us to continue with plans to build on the minor successes
we've had so far. Big plans are afoot to continue to expand our web
site efforts, encourage the organization of branch ISAPs (if several of
you live within close proximity to each other, why not get together
regularly and share experiences, knowledge, contacts, equipment
critiques, etc.?), and come up with ways to benefit the group as a
whole?
Like to take a moment to thank those who worked so
hard to make ISAP-VII a success. They are, in alphabetical order: your
Board of Directors (Paul Bowen, David Carlson, Denny Lombard,
Russ Munson, Albert Ross, Caroline Sheen, Eric Schulzinger, Chad
Slattery, Katsuhiko Tokunaga), your new treasurer, Bonnie Kratz, Susan
Miller, Joe Oliva, your web site sheriff, Michele Peterson, Richard
VanderMeulen, and Andy Wolfe.
And finally, let me also say
thanks to the following sponsors - without whom, we would not be able
to pay our bills! - Air & Space Smithsonian, AOPA, Boeing, Canon
USA, Delkin Devices, Lockheed Martin, and Nikon USA.
Until next month...
Jay
